Buckingham derives its name from Buckinghamshire in England, and was once the County Seat of Bucks County. The historic township has a number of villages and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Holicong Village Historic District, Spring Valley Historic District, and the Buckingham Friends Meeting House.

The majority of homes in Buckingham Township use a Doylestown mailing address, although some parts of the municipality use Furlong and New Hope.

Buckingham Township is part of the esteemed Central Bucks School District. As the third largest public school district in the state, Central Bucks operates twenty three schools and serves approximately 20,000 students.
What to Do in Buckingham Township
While Buckingham Township is largely residential, it is also home to some of Bucks County’s quaintest shopping and eateries at Peddler’s Village. The walkable village draws visitors from all over Greater Philadelphia and features over sixty unique shops, galleries, and award-winning restaurants.

If you’re in Buckingham Township for the day, be sure to stop at a few of our favorite local spots including None Such Farm Market, Wycombe Vineyards and Winery, and Buckingham Valley Vineyards.

Buckingham Township is located just a couple of minutes from Doylestown. Residents love heading to Doylestown for dinner and drinks at restaurants such as Honey or Maxwell’s on Main.
