Convenient, trendy, and flourishing! Conshohocken Borough, which is often affectionately referred to as “Conshy,” is located along the Schuylkill River in southern Montgomery County. With easy access to Philadelphia and a vibrant downtown area, it’s no surprise that so many people call Conshohocken home!
Conshohocken Borough Quick Facts
Upon being incorporated in 1850, Conshohocken borough was a mill town that was notable for being home to large industrial firms (including the Alan Wood Iron and Steel Company). The twentieth century brought significant change to the community, which is now largely residential.

Conshy is known for being located near a sharp bend on the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76 leading into Philadelphia). Motorists have coined the term “Conshohocken Curve” to denote the frequent traffic problems that occur right around this turn!

No car? No problem! This walkable town offers easy access to Center City through two stations on the Regional Rail (the Conshohocken Station and the Spring Mill Station). Bus routes are also available, and many residents prefer to bike around town.
What To Do In Conshohocken Borough
The popular shops and restaurants of Fayette Street include the Great American Pub, Blackfish BYOB, Fayette Street Grille, and El Limon! Conshohocken’s popular Restaurant Week is held each year in September, with most local restaurants participating.

Be sure to take the kids to Edwards-Freeman Nut Company, a gigantic candy store with a rich history and a true landmark of the borough!

Conshohocken’s great location along the Schuylkill River allows for plenty of outdoor activities. The aptly-named Schuylkill River Trail offers a beautiful 26-mile path for runners and bikers, and water sports enthusiasts will love the local kayak and canoe opportunities.

Homes for sale in Conshohocken Borough tend to be priced right around the Montgomery County average, although home values have increased considerably in the past few years! In fact, Conshohocken was very affordable before the town became revitalized. Now, Conshohocken is highly desirable – and that is reflected in the higher home prices!

New construction is very popular, and investors frequently “flip” homes in the Borough to match Conshohocken’s recent revitalization.
